Where
Sarang Ra.Kar.Sa, Bandung
When
December 2025 or 1st Quarter of 2026
What
This 30-day self-organized residency integrates creative production, workshop, research, and networking activities. My main activity during this time is to work on my new video essay, One, Two, One, Two.
This short experimental video revolves around natural and artistic processes and is a collaboration with Low Shao Lyn and Amanda Gayle who are both trained graphic designers; Shao is also an established urban farming activist, and Amanda has recently expanded her design practice into contemporary art. I will use my time here to explore the feasibility and logistics of organizing a 3-person, multisensory art exhibition in Bandung, opening in 2026 or 2027.
The other thing is I want to expand my creative network in Bandung. Through introduction from Ra.Kar.Sa, I hope to engage with the local arts community by visiting studios and exhibitions. I plan to spend time with Ra.Kar.Sa members and other local artists to casually brainstorm ideas for future collaborative projects in either Bandung or Kuala Lumpur. To actively engage the community, I will also conduct a four-session video making workshop (one session per week) focused on my approach to using sound in video making.
Ra.Kar.Sa is welcome to propose something for us to collaborate on during the 30-days. Something that is meaningful for its community. This can be confirmed after further discussion.
